Time to get things rolling! Advertising of Woodstock
4 boys from New York came together and came up with the idea of Woodstock. Their names are John Roberts, Joel Rosenman, Artie Kornfield and Michael Lang. They hosted their event at a 600 acre Dairy Farm in Bethel New York. When the weekend of the festival arrived 186,000 tickets were sold.
Arrival to Woodstock
The weekend was here and Woodstock was rearing to start! 500,000 fans eagerly start making their way to Woodstock camping out days before the festival even began.

The Rain and Mud
You think rain awww that must have ruined the festival, not for the Hippies at Woodstock they felt more empowered and danced in the rain and mud and enjoyed life and the sound and feel of music.
Expected less than 100,000 got 500,000 Fans
Those four boys from upstate New York were only expecting less than 100,000 fans to come and 500,000 came quite the turnout huh?

Shelters at Woodstock
Woostock was obviously a huge festival so room was pretty limited! People built huts, found small caves and slept in their vans and these people even had the owner of this dairy farm to camp out.
Food being served to fans and the Bands at Woodstock
Can you imagine feeding 500,000 people for 3 days uh uh well 3 men named Charles Baxter, Jeffrey Joerger and Lee Howard did with the help of some volunteers as well they made Hamburgers, Hotdogs and other goodies for the Hippies and Bands at Woodstock and suceeded kudos really go out to them!
Everyone was at Woodstock even children
Children came to enjoy Woodstock too and they loved it lots of room to play and run nude.
Of coarse we come to the drug use of the Festival
Oh yes there was alot of that, concert goers and bands wanted to expand their minds with LSD, Marijuana and other drugs
Richie Havens performed 9 songs at Woodstock on Friday August 15,1969. Havens is a Folk, Blues and Soul singer. His performance started at 5:07 pm to 7 pm that night.
The Band Sweetwater
Next up on the roster for performances was the band Sweetwater. They performed 10 songs between 7:30 -8:10 pm. Some of their songs included Crystal Spider and Day Song.
Bert Sommer was third in line, he performed 10 songs including Things are going my way and Smile. His performance was 8:20 pm - 9:15 pm on Friday night.
Tim Hardin also performed 10 songs between 9:20 pm-9:45 pm. Tim is a Folk Musician. Some of his songs included Speak like a child and Misty Roses.
Ravi Shankar performed 3 songs at 10:00 pm-10:35 and played completely through the rain which is sweet.
Melanie Safka performed 7 songs at 10:50 pm - 11:20 and a few of her songs included Beautiful People and Birthday of the Sun.
Ario Guthrie is a Social Injustice singer on Friday the 15th Ario performed 7 songs including Oh mary dont you weep and Amazing Grace. His performance was at 11:55 pm - 12:25 pm.
Joan who was 6 months pregnant at the time performed at 12:55 am to 2 am on Saturday morning. Some songs included Joe Hill and We Shall Overcome.
Saturday August 16, 1969 second day of Woodstock
Onto the second day of Woodstock acts to perform include: Quill, Country Joe Mcdonald, Santana, John B. Sebastian, Keef Hartley Band, The Incredible String Band, Canned Heat, Mountain, Grateful Dead, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Janis Joplin, Sly and the Family Stone, The Who and Jefferson Airplane.
First up Quill
Quill a new band from New England New York played 4 Thirty minute songs at Woodstock. Songs include That's How I Eat, and Waiting For You. Their performance was at 12:15-12:45.
Country Joe Mcdonald
Country Joe Mcdonald played 9 songs including Tennessee Stud and The Fish. Their performance was at 1-1:30 pm. Country Joe Mcdonald is a psychedelic Rock band.
Santana a Latin Rock Band performed 8 songs at Woodstock at 2-2:45 some of his songs included Evil Ways and Soul Sacrifice.
John B. Sebastian
John B. Sebastian the lead singer of The Lovin Spoonful, performed 5 songs at Woodstock including Rainbows all over your Blues and I had a Dream. He performed at 3:30-3:35.
Keef Hartley Band
Keef Hartley Band performed 6 songs at Woodstock including Spanish Fly and Rock me Baby. They performed at 4:45-5:30.
The Incredible String Band
The Incredible String Band is a Psychadelic Folk Band they played 6 songs at Woodstock including The Letter and This Moment. They played at 6:00-6:30.
Canned Heat was a rock band from California, they played 7 songs including Going up to the Country and on the Road again. Their performance was at 7:30 to 8:30.
The band Mountain was a rock band from Long Island New York and they played 11 songs at Woodstock including Stormy Monday and Dirty Shoes Blues. They performed at 9-10 pm.
